IntroductionThank you for expressing interest in Maple Hill Montessori. It is our pleasure to offer you and your child the best in traditional Montessori education, in a truly unique environment. Maple Hill is a small and intimate school, cultivated and nurtured by several passionate and dedicated individuals. The schools framework is based on several key elements: a concise primary and elementary curriculum, additional multi medium arts program, and the final important element, its staff. The curriculum for this school is built solely, on the Montessori theory and philosophy, in order to satisfy each child's intellectual, emotional, and social needs. With a structured program and low child/teacher ratio (8:1) the Montessori education allows the child to develop at their own pace in a non-competitive learning environment. This promotes independence and self-development. Our school works by one curriculum, while working to integrate the Ontario Curriculum through Montessori Theories. Administration is responsible for the organization of trips, specific programming and school social events. This ensures consistency, control and well scheduled events to ensure everyone within the school benefits. This allows for unity in classrooms, and at home.
It is our goal to quench a child's thirst. To open up their world and give them the opportunity to explore avenues every parent wants for their child. The multi medium arts programs have been incorporated into the daily agenda to ensure that each child gains knowledge not only in academics but also in exploring their creative energy. Highly accredited instructors teach all our conversational French, music, visual arts, physical education and dance programs. Special initiatives are offered through Maple Hill to maximize the service we provide to our clients. Hot catered meals are provided for by a local well respected restaurant, meal evaluations for each child are completed and sent out on a daily basis. Our library has been made available for both parents and children wishing to utilize our resources. After school tutoring and extra curricular classes for our children are available such as: Piano, Guitar, Sewing . Varsity sports are in the programming stages and will be taking shape within the year. Simple initiatives such as these are common place at Maple Hill. A parent and teacher advisory committee, has been in place for it's second year. This parent driven committee assists with school socials and fundraisers. It is essential to have an open line of communication at all times between parent, faculty and school administration. Within this package you will find the necessary documentation for registering your child for September 2003-2004. For your convenience we have created a schedule that may best suit your child's needs, two day, three day, and full-time schedules are available. Our school has an intimate setting with only 54 spaces available, on a daily basis. These will be granted on a first come first served basis.
Bring your child to our school; have them take part in a class. It is important for us to know how they feel about the program. This evaluation process will enable you to evaluate us through both a child's and a personal perspective. At the same time the school will take this opportunity to evaluate you, and your parenting style. It is through this process that we are able to match with families that are concise with our style and philosophy. Our mandate is to work with children, to maximize their abilities. The admission process begins with the Admission Procedure Checklist. All necessary information and documentation must be completed and forwarded to the administration office plus a $50.00 nonrefundable deposit. Each directress brings a distinctive flavour and uniqueness to their classroom. When placed under one roof they become the cornerstones of Maple Hill.
